Books Under Fire:
Banned Books Collection
Publication Design
This three-book collection highlights classic novels that have repeatedly been banned in American schools, bookstores, and libraries due to their controversial subject matter. In contrast, Books Under Fire advocates for readers to engage with and discuss these uncomfortable, foreign, and difficult topics through the unique power of literature. The collection’s name and visual language are heavily inspired by propaganda and acts of censorship, including the historic practice of book burning. Books Under Fire aims to “ignite a spark” in young adult readers to seek and express ideas freely.
